Teaching Children

The Class of 2018 were given scriptures to not only memorize but to get the words into their spirits as they prepare for their BIG Graduation Day. When raising Godly children it is important to use the Word of God. God knows children and He knows what you need to do to bring them up in the way they should go. Parents are either going to prepare their children to follow God or to follow the world.

Praying with them and being a good example is the most important thing we can do as parents when raising children. A child will trust his or her parents and believe the awesome stories in the Bible. If we don’t teach our children to follow God, the world will teach them not to.”

Teaching children to count numbers is fine, but teaching them what counts is best. I would not dare sit and judge parents who are not bringing up their children in the admonition of the Lord. However, I will say that after 24 years of working with children and families, having a strong, solid foundation in God is essential. Teaching our children values like kindness, forgiveness, loyalty, self-control, gentleness, patience and long-suffering will provide them with the tools for future growth and development.
